Everything we do can be broken down into simple steps.
We do many things every day, and at the simplest level there are the things that keep us alive.
- Breathe.
- Eat.
- Drink.
And what of living a life that is more than just staying alive? What I desire is living a life of love. It is perhaps, unnecessary to my existence, but without it I can’t imagine I would want to breathe, eat, or drink. Without love I am a shell of myself. A human existing without purpose or definition. A human without being.
Since I’ve recently gone back to ‘A Course In Miracles’ and begun the lessons again I understand the point of them is to live without judgement but also to remember the love I AM. Today in ‘Lesson 7’ I was reminded that:
I see only the past.
Everything I see I’ve given meaning to is based off of my past experience.
The point of the lesson is understanding everything I encounter, and give meaning to, is based off an old idea. For me this lesson simply brings a new awareness into my life. One of love. If I don’t base any new thing or experience off of something rooted in time I can view it with eyes of love.
I see only the past in this moment. And if I have the awareness of it I can bring love into the moment without attaching the past I bring with it. Hopefully, without attaching meaning from the past into the present. Optimally, using love to view the movie playing through the lens of my eyes in real time.
What are the simplest steps of love?
- Love
- Love
- Love
If we break down anything into it’s simplest form there is always an action to take.
If we break down love into it’s simplest form there is only one thing to be.
Love.
