I am not, nor have I ever been a fan of driving. I am easily distracted. Or, my eyelids get heavy and I nod off onto the side of the road. Yeah, that’s not good. I always prefer being a passenger over driving.
But the last two weeks I have been making repeated trips to Golden Valley and have discovered a wonderland of drives in Theodore Wirth Parkway. The trees are beautiful right now. You could pull over at any point of the drive and go on a gorgeous walk or shoot breathtaking shots.
I have made the drive about 5 times now and every time I turn onto the parkway I take a deep breath in and the next 7 minutes is a driving meditation.
Do you have a favorite road, path, or parkway you drive regularly? How often do you use this drive to consider the beauty of life, send a little prayer out into the universe, or practice gratitude?
The next time you drive this path often taken, consider slowing down a bit and soaking in the familiar in a new way.
