I broke my toe two weeks ago.
I gotta say, it has been rough.
Movement is a huge part of my day and the prognosis was crutches + no weight bearing after my X-rays at Tria Orthopedic Center.
I left on crutches and it didn’t take long to realize I wouldn’t be able to do my usual schedule of hop here, hop there, make a quick stop, run in and grab something, drop it off quick then repeat that all from the top.
Of course I want to be able to do it all myself and so I tried but it just doesn’t work when your hands are occupied with crutches.
I did find out how helpful people are and was sweetly surprised with the generosity and kind gestures I received.
One of them blew me away. After my first week hobbling around I went back to Tria for a check in on my big toe.
I was carrying my computer bag in one hand (with the crutch) and in the other I had somehow figured out how to squeeze the top part of my crutch into my armpit so I could free up the other hand to carry my latte.
There I was, turtling along….and Nancy came running out to me.
Nancy is one of the concierge staff at Tria.
Yep, they have an entire staff dedicated to making it easier for you to get in/out/around while you are less than capable. Nancy helped me in and after my appointment walked me to my car and helped me into it.
Fast forward to this weeks appointment at Tria. Now that I knew about this delightful offering and I “pulled up” to the front, gave my coffee and bag to the concierge who took it with a sincere smile.
Here’s the deal, this service is brilliant on its own, but the most lovely thing is the attitude and cheeriness of the staff.
Who knew you could break your toe, go to the clinic, and feel special? Now I do.
Thanks Tria concierge staff. Love you.
