Playing Roulette

By LVA

the odds play better in your favor

when you rely on yourself

you make the decisions

the choices

you determine the response

the odds play better in your favor this way

10 times out of 10 when you rely on yourself

you know yourself

and you trust yourself

you’ll win the hand

so why play roulette

why bring others into your time

your space

your concern

your attention

why would you roll the dice waiting

for a match

desiring for

the marble spinning on the dial, ticking around with anticipation

to equal the same number and color you bet on

craving everything matches as you want it to match

what are the odds you win

almost never

almost never will you get a winning hand with these odds

and you still play them

may the odds be always in your favor

even if they’re most definitely not

you might get lucky

and isn’t it why you play anyways,

for the thrill of it, the pain of losing it,

or maybe not, maybe you play

for the hope of connection

and hitting the jackpot
