We are often declaring our desire for peace in this world. But how often are we living peacefully in our own mind?
When someone cuts you off in traffic, do you retain your calm?
When you have been waiting on the phone for what seems like an eternity of time, listening to elevator music, do you breathe deeply and wait patiently?
When your Mac spins rainbows in circles do you take a few minutes to meditate until your page loads (oooh, I really need to work on this one!)?
When your partner forgets to put the lid down-pick up the milk-call and confirm your reservations-pay the electricity bill-do you take it all in stride and not sweat it?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, and it is all small stuff. Do you live by this mantra?
Peace in this world begins with me. If I can not find peace in my own life or maintain a calm and serene state how can I expect to find it in the world? The answer is, I can not.
The next time you notice chaos, confusion, drama, and trauma in the world take a moment to breathe deeply and center yourself. Say this…
“I desire peace and peace begins with me. I am peaceful and serene. Everything I see reflects this state within me”.
If you think affirmations are cheesy and don’t have a powerful and positive impact in your life I challenge you to come and check out my weekly FREE IntenSati class!*
This class uses exercise to lift your tush, and affirmations to lift your spirit.
This month’s series (big thanks to Polli for the idea) is all about finding peace within yourself. I know when you join me for this class you will find a more peaceful self living within you.
* Please note there is no IntenSati class this Saturday, March 9th. Please join me for class at PrAna 10am on Saturday, March 16th, for a more peaceful life.
I am powerful beyond measure
I am stronger than I seem
I find my zen
I am all I need
Harmony inside, generosity without
I am the master of my mind
All negative thoughts, stop right now!
Peace in the world, begins with me.
When? Right now.
Hope, Faith, Love. The power to change the world lives within me.
