Hey loves,
I’ve got two awesome playlists coming at you right now because I’m always late. I rock my ‘Song of the Day’ everyday and really enjoy finding new music to share with you. Since I’m late you get two for one here!
May playlist was born out of a serious feeling of loneliness and desire for connection. This playlist has a few explicit songs hence the title. And just be mindful of that while listening or downloading.
A couple big ones on this list for me….
You Will See Me- Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip
It’s the ultimate song when you don’t feel heard, listened to, or judged. The words get explicit in this one and it can feel a little revengeful but I love the lyrics and the way he uses space to create intensity. “I will create art. I will create beauty”. Sometimes hurt allows us to move forward and create more for ourselves. I never want to be hateful in my life but I have hard days where I want to “burn the world to the ground” and it helps to have a song like this to inspire my fire.
Sloppy Seconds- Watsky
I love someone. No matter where they’ve been or how many miles they’ve traveled. Everything we’ve been through in life. It’s our story. It’s beautiful. This songs tells that story. We need to love ourselves first, no matter what we’ve been through. And we can choose to love others no matter where they are or what they’ve been through if we want to, but I’d like to say this… we’re all messed up so let’s love where we are and who we are.
Birth of Words- The Samples
This song has a huge nostalgic effect for me. I won’t say more than it reminds me…it’s hard to love through confusion. You want to give up. Sometimes you give up on others. Sometimes you give up on the we of being with someone. Don’t ever give up on yourself.
June Playlist is a bit more upbeat and is all about my love for summer. It’s a light-hearted and sun friendly listen! You’ll feel good listening to this mix at the beach or on a quick run or on your patio with a nice refreshing drink. You might notice the theme is really, Just Dance. Not a bad way to live.
Chemical Reaction- Girlfriend
I listened to this on repeat above all the songs on this playlist. It just made me want to dance, and that feels good and takes me home. I had a chemical reaction to this beat.
Beat of my Drum- Powers
Take the pressure and put your hands up. Move to the beat of the drum. YES! When I get overwhelmed this song reminds me to just dance.
Cinderella- The Knocks
Summer Select is about dancing on my bed. Dancing in my car. Dancing on my rollerblades. Dancing anywhere. This song makes me want to dance and move my feet. I won’t ever stop living my fantasy.
I hope you enjoy both of these playlists. Feel free to join me on snapchat to watch my songs of the day happen in real time!
I’m already rocking my songs for July so I’ll be back soon! xx
