PART FOUR:
“What’s a polar bear weigh?”
She didn’t know the answer so her response was, “I dunno. What?”
Dots formed again and quickly the words came.
“Enough to break the ice”.
She’d already dropped into the tub and was feeling the warm water surrounding her body when she read it. She laughed and felt a warm tingle in her stomach. Like this was someone she could connect to for a minute.
There’d been so many minutes in her recent months. Minutes of dates and hookups and conversations over an app that left so much to be imagined. None of it had really brought any depth or enjoyment.
There was that one perfect date where she walked the lake with him and realized maybe a few minutes too late that it wasn’t as perfect as she thought. They walked into a nearby bar to grab a drink and when she came out from the bathroom he’d ‘disappeared’. He dipped out and wasn’t feeling it.
Most people didn’t “feel” it with her. She knew that. It was the way it was. Her style of communication and interaction was more straightforward and possibly too ‘in your face’ for some blokes.
Blokes. Jokes. Hoax. That’s what she’d been feeling with the whole internet dating thing lately. It wasn’t going anywhere and he wasn’t going to amount to anything either.
His pics were so cute. His text style hit her heart and even if it felt slightly dangerous she wanted to respond…
Stay tuned for part 5. Until then.
