Accelerated learning is a goal for me. I don’t want to take “years” to figure stuff out, and yet living in the space I am in today I realize it took me the years I needed to get here.
One of my favorite things about teaching is sharing what I am learning or have learned and in my-idealistic-thinking saving others the “time” it took me by offering meaningful shortcuts.
I’ve started reading ‘Unlimited Power’ by Anthony Robbins, again. For the 3rd time.
At 425 pages it isn’t an easy book to read. Also, the print is very small so it is really like 800 pages.
Interestingly enough in the initial pages he discusses how this book was recommended by his editor to be TWO books. He decided against it even though
“Several studies have shown that less than 10% of the people who buy a book read past the first chapter”.
Why not shift the odds then by creating two books of it? I suppose because of the statement he followed with the above…
“Only a small percentage of people really live the life of their dreams. Why? It takes effort. It takes consistent action”.
He wasn’t in the business of writing a book for the masses. He knew that his information would be for those that really desired change and followed the consistent action of reading his book.
I want change. I am willing to go all the way and read the entire book, but you don’t have to, and you can still get the goods.
