It’s been a little while since I’ve published a new playlist. Truthfully I started working on this one awhile ago but with (what appears to be) the early arrival of spring I was inspired to finish it up.
Dopamine is way more complicated than my-I-got-a-C–in-Chemistry-brain can comprehend. And yes, that’s not just a typo dash it really was a C-.
What I do know is it’s comprehensively recognized as feel good juice. I know myself well enough at this point I can confidently say 3 things produce it for me.
- Moving my body outdoors.
- Music.
- Sun & warmth.
The issue becomes this nagging reality called winter. I experience flowing dopamine in the summer months and then as the days get darker and winter gets closer my supply moves to a drip. I’m actually really proud of my drip! Not long ago it would completely dry up and I’d hide under the covers for a few months.
With practice (it makes you better) I’ve started making winters my time to grow and learn how to keep myself not just aliv-in but thrivin’.
This year has been one of my best ever. I’ve been traveling to Dallas every month for some extended warmth, a new view point, and more sun.
I also have had some really amazing successes come into my life that I’ve been FP-ing for awhile (blog post on this is underway and I’ll share more soon).
So. I’m jammin’ to this feel-good music juice and wanted to share it with you too. Whatever gets you back into your flow, identify it, then put it into practice.
I love this. Practice makes you better. And I forget all the time. For example, my signature hot pink beats have been living in the trunk of my Toyota for the last month. Like WTH??? How did it forget I need music to breath.
I’m here, with grace. Remembering. And practicing. Not beating myself up, just putting them back on my head and dancing again.
What produces dopamine for you? I’d love if you shared! It’s dope I mean. Right?
