The 25 Workouts in 25 Days Summer Challenge is all about bringing awareness to Amy Clover’s Strong Inside Out Tour.
For 25 days (while Amy’s campaign is going on) I’m doing my own 10-ish minute workouts in 25 Minneapolis outdoor locations. I invite you to join me.
WORKOUT THREE @ RACHEL’S BACKYARD
If you read my blog (or are one of my regular LVA students) then you know Rachel. Je’adore this girl and I miss seeing her SO much since I ended my regular classes in April. We were gonna hook up for a paddle board sesh around the lake but it was mighty windy (and cold) so we took Rosco (her pup) around the lake and caught up on life: ie, struggles, anticipations, passions, and recent happenings.
I was telling her all about my excitement with this challenge and she wanted to play too! LOVE HER. So we hit her backyard and used some of her fun equipment (that she admitted she wasn’t using as much as she wanted to) for a rock solid HIIT workout. It was amazing! If you have 10 lb. weights and a bosu ball you’re set for this one. If not just ad lib with what ya got in your house (you don’t need a bosu ball for the push ups or mountain climbers and you could use cans of soup instead of weights, get creative).
- 10 bench step ups on the right side | 10 bench step ups on the left side
- 10 bench jump ups with a burpee/push up off the bench
- 10 fifteen yard sprint touch downs
- 20 over head presses (with 10 lb. weights)
- 40 mountain climbers on a bosu ball
- 20 bent over rows (with 10 lb. weights)
- 40 mountain climbers on a bosu ball
- Repeat all of the above through a second time
- Finish with 2 minutes of timed push ups on a bosu ball. Do 5 push ups, jump up and take a 10 second rest. Keep repeating until your timer goes off (We got through 8 sets in the 2 minutes).
Our walk around the lake was full of catch up time and took about 40 minutes but our HIIT workout only took 12 minutes and kicked both our butts!
Rachel is near and dear to my heart and I LOVED catching up with her while also working out. Further proof that finding a partner can really make your workouts fun. Also we talked about how inspiring it is to have a goal. I love that I’m doing this challenge. I feel so good about the commitment and after only 3 days my spirits have lifted and I’m excited for tomorrow!
Verdict after day 3: Buddy workouts rock! Rachel’s going to be joining me again for more workouts and I love being able to connect while getting fit. It’s a killer combination.
Do you have a workout buddy? Tell me why you love working out with them and then tag + share it with them in the comments below.
