The 25 Workouts in 25 Days Summer Challenge is all about bringing awareness to Amy Clover’s Strong Inside Out Tour.
For 25 days (while Amy’s campaign is going on) I’m doing my own 10-ish minute workouts in 25 Minneapolis outdoor locations. I invite you to join me.
WORKOUT SIX @ ST. PAUL UNION DEPOT
I might be cheating a bit on this one…the challenge is 25 OUTDOOR workouts and this one happened inside. In all honesty it was a downpourin’ today so getting outside for a workout wasn’t gonna happen anyway.
I also knew that I had a powerful event (Sculpt Squat Launch) I was scheduled to speak at, and I’d be able to get my workout in there. The sculpt squad is just the kinda thing I can get behind. Not unlike Amy’s SIO tour, this organization is about lifting people up through struggle and giving them tools to successfully navigate grief, fear, depression, and addiction. One of these tools is moving & sweating intentionally. They offer healing and empowerment through power yoga and self-development.
I was honored to give a key-note on overcoming obstacles at their launch event. Lord knows, I’ve had a lot of experience in this arena and it was a practice of humility and self-love to speak when most recently I’ve been struggling in my personal life. The event was a tremendous success and after speaking I sweat along with everyone there for the awesome sculpt class Kathy led.
- 75 minute yoga sculpt class
Again, this workout was longer than 10 minutes but being in a room of over 100 peeps moving through the workout together was inspiring and motivational. I busted my butt, and my friend Lara was there right along side of me. We shared many smiles during the class, and a beer after. 😉
Right after the class ended there was the most beautiful rainbow in the sky. It was a perfect reminder of why we’d all gathered together for this event; the promise of hope & healing for all. I experienced so much healing being a part of the night and I’m grateful to Joshua and Kathy for creating this beautiful company + including me. For more details on the sculpt squad visit their website.
Verdict after day 6: Moving your body for a cause and to help others offers you healing. The gratitude you’ll feel for being ‘in service’ to a greater cause will elevate your mood and give you a natural high.
Have you ever participated in a fitness event for a charity, if so how’d it feel to raise the funds and take care of your body by moving it for a cause greater than than yourself ? I want to hear from you, leave a comment for me lovely!
xoxo, LVA-
