The 25 Workouts in 25 Days Summer Challenge is all about bringing awareness to Amy Clover’s Strong Inside Out Tour.
For 25 days (while Amy’s campaign is going on) I’m doing my own 10-ish minute workouts in 25 Minneapolis outdoor locations. I invite you to join me.
WORKOUT FIVE @ STONE ARCH BRIDGE
So in yesterday’s workout I mentioned I might need to fit in an easy one to help my muscles recover a bit.
That day has come my friends! My muscles are still feeling busted up and I decided to forgo the 10 minute HIIT workout and do an awesome walk instead.
It was a great choice and I didn’t do it alone either. I met up with my friend Cindy and we walked the Stone Arch bridge, checking out the raging Mississippi waters, chatting, and enjoying being outside while we gently moved our bodies. Gently being the key word here.
- 1.5 mile walk
Obviously this took us longer than 10 minutes but it was really fun and I was grateful to have a day moving my body less intensely. Still, getting outside and moving is what helps lift my spirits and improve my mood. The point of this challenge was to help me feel productive and lift my sadness, and it’s working.
Verdict after day 4: When you’re body is screaming at you the best thing you can do is listen up. It doesn’t mean you don’t need to move but you can choose to get a gentle workout in and it’ll be amazing for your spirit & your body.
I’d like to know how you listen to yourself when your body is aching for a break. Do you take a bath, push through the pain, or go for a walk? Leave a comment below.
xoxo, LVA-
