The 25 Workouts in 25 Days Summer Challenge is all about bringing awareness to Amy Clover’s Strong Inside Out Tour.
For 25 days (while Amy’s campaign is going on) I’m doing my own 10-ish minute workouts in 25 Minneapolis outdoor locations. I invite you to join me.
WORKOUT EIGHT @ SCULPTURE GARDENS
The sculpture gardens is on of the favorite locations of my bootcamp students. I think it’s because it’s so pretty, but most of them find the workout challenging too. Lots of stairs + running + illegal moves performed on sculptures early in the morning makes it feel very James Bond-spy like. I usually do a secret challenge that has them moving through the gardens checking out all parts of it while they get in the workout and go after a prize. Maybe they love it because all the running around distracts them from the fact that their getting their butts kicked with the workout.
I decided to after all these years of leading boot camps at this spot that I would do my own- definitely shorter than my 45 minute classes- kick butt workout.
- 2 minutes of stairs one at at time
- 2 minutes running
- 30 seconds of recline pull ups (on a sculpture)
- 30 seconds of jump squats
- 30 seconds of recline pull ups (on a sculpture)
- 30 seconds of jump squats
- 2 minutes running
- 2 minutes of stairs bounding every other stair
Total time 10 minutes
After I finished I totally got why my students love this hot spot bootcamp location. It was really fun being in such a beautiful space and sweating. Even though it was only 10 minutes the time flew by, and I thought about going through it a second time, but I had an appointment I had to get to. I’ll be back here for bootcamp this summer and I’ll also be back to do my own workouts here too.
Verdict after day 8: It feels good to keep busting it out. This workout was way more cardio than strength. The stairs kicked my booty.
Have you ever used park equipment, sculptures, or other real life structures for your workouts? Give it up in the comments, I want to know.
xoxo, LVA-
