Wow I am constantly amazed at how fast a week can fly by. Before you know it I will be headed to Brazil for the Pan Am tournament. Until then, I am training hard and doing my best at living, working, and training.
It can be a lot.
UPHEAVAL:
This next piece of news might make it seem like even more (because it is) and yet I am fielding it well. I have to drive to Chicago this weekend to get my Brazil visa in person since I found out they are not accepting the third party applications for Brazil (a few weeks ago I sent my application to a third party company in Chicago, Travisa. Now the Brazil consulate is requiring all visa applicants to show up in person so Travisa is not allowed to apply for me).
My sis Kelley (aka the media maven) is going with me so you can expect some fun videos to come out of it and we might even do some extra ones over the duration of the trip. If you are on youtube then subscribe to the LVA channel so you can get the video updates as they come out.
COMING HOME:
I have had a great week of training….ultimately I am amazed and in awe that it has been two years this week since opening the OM collective with my business partners. I love them and how we have busted it out to be successful with our unique concept and space in such an unpredictable economy. I am so happy to have OM sponsoring me in this Brazil journey as well, and I am eternally grateful to the support of my lovely partners.

Two years ago this week the OM girls signed our lease and opened our beautiful space at 3350 Lyndale Ave.S, Mpls. Mn.
I finally made it back into my kickboxing “home” this week. I love the Cellar Fight and Fitness but since breaking my big toe 7 weeks ago, the drive out to the gym seemed long and I knew that I would be jealous of all the other people able to kick when I couldn’t on my broken toe. It was a breath of fresh air to pop in there this week and hang with my “girls” Jen and Jenny. Also, I am looking forward to sparring Saturday morning and checking back in with some of the “boys” too. One thing I love about this place is how welcome everyone is there, and also just fun.
COOKING WITH FRIENDS:
I can’t wait until next weeks ‘Kitchen Day With LVA’ episode comes out. I had an awesome time filming the episode with Sarah of ‘Vinaigrette’. They are awesome sponsors for my Brazil journey and also “dealers” of my olive oil and vinegar addiction. You can even see my “stash” below.
CHEATING:
I totally cheated at Bull Run Coffee yesterday. I was having one of “those” days and caved off my training food plan and ordered a Vanilla Latte. It was SO worth it and the extra 30 minutes of jumping rope I had to do so I could drink that sweet, delectable, heaven-on-earth drink! Seriously.
TRAINING HARD:
Last week Matt at Horsepower had me flipping tires, this week I was wearing chains. I’d be hesitant to go back if I hadn’t gotten SO many gains from these crazy, and killer workouts. I am getting super strong from my conditioning training at Horsepower and I can’t wait to blow some girls away in the ring in three weeks.
That is my update and I’ll check ya’ from the road to Chi-town this weekend. Damn, it is a great adventure. Thanks for being on the ride with me!
