All is well in Ireland. Travels were smooth and we arrived at 7am in Dublin. I was so excited that I didn’t sleep much on the plane. I kept myself up all day so that I would be able to sleep well on Saturday night and hopefully avoid jet lag.
Margaret I drank lots of water on the plane, thanks for the voicemail!
It worked well, but by Friday afternoon I was dragging and had to work hard to stay awake. I got in a little run and sauna to make weight and came in at exactly 56 kilos (123.2 lbs), it was very easy and felt good to workout after sitting on the plane for 8 hours. After weigh ins (everyone on the team made weight) we had a bite to eat and went for a kickboxing workout with the team.

My plan of staying up all day worked because I was able to get to bed at 9pm and slept through the night and woke at 7am refreshed. We had a beautiful breakfast and then I took off on the light rail into Dublin city for the day. I went to Bikram, walked a bit, met a wonderful pedi-cab driver named Nash who gave me a a 45 minute tour around the city by bike. Out of the parameters of what they normally do, but he made an exception and I am so glad! I had a great time with seeing the city this way. I had a healthy lunch at Burritos and Orange which is the equivalent of our Chipotle, not as yummy, but filling. I took the light rail back and what amazing history. You can’t ride the rail in Minneapolis and see so many cool, old sites as this. MOA destination has nothing on how cool this ride was for me. Back at the hotel the rest of the teams had arrived (we were pretty much one of the first teams in on Friday) and the lobby was buzzing….Estonia, Greece, Ukraine, Russia, Italy, Ireland, Kasakstan, South Africa, Switzerland, these are just a few of the team jackets I’ve seen. The energy is intense and super addicting. I CAN’T WAIT TO FIGHT!
