A Clean Cut

By LVA

The doctor examined the tip of her finger cut straight through by her kitchen knife.

“This is a clean cut”.

He explained it was a good thing. And he’d be able to re-attach the tip with stitches and she would even have feeling in her finger again after some time.

“It’ll be black and blue for a little while, and there will be a lot of swelling, but it’ll heal”.

She wondered if it was the same for her heart.

Does it work the same way?

Can you get your heart cut at the tip, or in half and stitch it back together with some black and blue, a lot of swelling, and still have feeling again?

She wasn’t sure, but it was a clean cut. So she’d wait and see.
